 Making a fresh and healthy salad is simple and versatile. Here's a basic recipe for a classic garden salad:


**Ingredients:**

- Mixed salad greens (lettuce, spinach, arugula, or any greens of your choice)

- Cucumbers, sliced

- Tomatoes, cut into wedges or cherry tomatoes

- Red onions, thinly sliced (optional)

- Carrots, grated or sliced

- Bell peppers, sliced

- Dressing of your choice (olive oil and vinegar, balsamic vinaigrette, ranch, etc.)

- Salt and pepper to taste

**Instructions:**


1. **Wash and Prepare the Greens:**

   - Wash the mixed salad greens thoroughly under cold running water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water.


2. **Slice and Prepare the Vegetables:**

   - Cut the cucumbers into slices, tomatoes into wedges or use cherry tomatoes, and thinly slice the red onions. Grate or slice the carrots and slice the bell peppers. You can add or omit any vegetables based on your preference.


3. **Combine the Vegetables:**

   - In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed salad greens and all the prepared vegetables. Toss gently to mix them together.


4. **Season the Salad:**

   - Sprinkle some salt and pepper over the salad to enhance the flavors. You can also add any other herbs or seasonings you like.


5. **Add Dressing:**

   - Drizzle your preferred dressing over the salad. Start with a small amount and add more if needed. Toss the salad gently to coat the vegetables evenly with the dressing.


6. **Optional Toppings:**

   - If desired, add optional toppings like croutons, nuts, seeds, feta cheese, avocado, or any other toppings you prefer.


7. **Serve Your Fresh Salad:**

   - Transfer the salad to individual plates or a serving bowl. Your fresh and delicious salad is ready to be served!
